Note the relaxed rules about pre-made objects and stuff you didn't make. There has to be at least one mechanical device that you modeled but the rest of the scene can be made of your old stuff, free stuff, etc.
The last Monthly Modeling Challenge had the theme Incredible Mechanics. My Button Pushing Machine won by default with no other entries. I think this theme deserves another run.

That's lookin' good James! So far it has a 1950's sci fi vibe to me. At first glance the bolted flanges looked like welds. That's something you don't see in CG.

You are all intimidated by James' wip. And you should be but you should compete anyway. Don't have time? Think of something you can make quickly. I doesn't have to be a complicated machine or difficult to model.
