Hi together ... i was on the caligari tutorial site and have seen this old course here: "tS6.6 - Multipass Rendering (with Photoshop) - Marcel Barthel - 2004"
But, how could they render into a PSD file? I use tS6.6 but i can just render into BMP, PNG, TGA, JPG & AVI. Is there any upgrade that i forgot???

Ipak.
It comes standard in modeler. One of the best things in TS imo. You can also render to diffuse and specular with 3delight. It's a lot more limited than lightworks, but is still very cool.

Re: Multipass Rendering - HOW?
Design Devil. It would be a good change!
I find the multipass feature really helpful in all my renderings. Its so nice to be able to render out (for example) individual lights and then change them afterwards in an appropriate program that handles PSD files. I use an early version of photoshop elements (v 2) at home or photoshop proper at work. This feature of trueSpace is what keeps me thinking I should buy photoshop for home. I have Coreldraw X3 but it doesn't handle photoshop psd files with layers properly and GIMP (free software) unfortunately handles the layers but changes the colours
)
It will speed up your work flow, though intial rendering takes longer tweaking the image is much quicker...

Re: Multipass Rendering - HOW?
You can also use Photoline. It handles truespace psd's perfectly. You have to export channels as layers, otherwise it's fine.
It's also only 60 euro.

Well if you haven't downloaded yet, you better hurry. The 2 sided(workspace/modelspace) version will be disappearing soon.DesignDevil wrote:Thanks for this information. I believe it is time for me to change.

Re: Multipass Rendering - HOW?
This is sort of on topic. Did Paul (Splinters) ever make a tutorial about
Multipass rendering? I saw this graphic that was his and wondered where it came
from.
