New Tutorial section?
I propose new "Non Application Specific" section for displaying things as as topology methods and workflows, things that are usefull to know in any application, and therefor "non specific"

Re: New Tutorial section?
But 2D software and Render Engines are the only non-specific sections in the tutorial section. All others are Lightwave, Blender etc.DanX wrote:I believe you can put any app specific tutorial in the current tutorial section. I know that this community embraces any artist no mater what he paints with.

Re: New Tutorial section?
Non-specific sections can be interesting for 3d 2d photo and video. Non-specific method are also the difference between a "standard" pro and a good pro. It is necessary to have a personnal style. Especially if you work alone. Here, most of members love 3d but are not 100% 3d pro, then they do 3d alone. And specific method or software can be more useful for them than a real pro forum.
Good idea.

Re: New Tutorial section?
So, does a forum inside the tutorial section need to be created, and titled something like,
'General Graphics Tutorials'?
'General Graphics Tutorials'?

Re: New Tutorial section?
I think not inside the tutorial section. Assuming that those who know their software, the new topic could develop these other points:
-beyond the tutorial: explain the usefulness of the tools. (we know how it work but to do what?)
-undocumented tips: how artists use their tools (a lot of surprise can be show here!)
-atypical methods: invent our own tools to suit our needs. (a problem? maybe a solution exist)
Do not put in this topic classic examples that already exist in the tutorials.
This should not be a manual but a comprehensive study. (not sure if you understand what i mean, due to my bad english).
A good example is universal and easily adaptable to multiple software.
in fact, it would take a whole forum with different topics.

Re: New Tutorial section?
I think a sub-forum for non-application-specific techniques, information, and tutorials would be good. There are plenty of methods that apply in any or most software. Like much of what is here: http://www.subdivisionmodeling.com"
