Steinie Land

Post by Steinie »

I have always admired Illustrators work and felt their work was always degraded by Fine Art.
Online I found an old "Creative Illustration" book by Andrew Loomis for $60.00. Usually this book sells for over $100.00. Loomis wrote this book for other Illustrators and it's contents is extensive. Since it is no longer published Artist snap this book up when they can. You can get the PDF version for free online.

Muchos Gracias Roberto.

If I could go back in time and hit 18 year old me in the head with a book, it would be this one.
I would also say "Forget Fine Arts, go for Illustration, you idiot!"

That looks a lot like the mix in my shade garden.
Not quite as lush here yet -the hosta are just starting to unfurl.
Grass is growing like mad tho Finis, you could cut twice a week.

Lol @trueBlue. Good one.

Hey Steinie... How you holding up buddy? For me, it really is a girly storm. I'm 4 blocks from the water. My block is fine (10 extra feet of elevation really Does make a difference) but the other ones have some real flooding, and it isn't over yet. But, now with all these fallen branches... I have firewood for the backyard campfire :)

Michigan reporting in: lost the top to one of our big weeping willows; gonna be a non-fun job cleaning it up as most of it is still caught high up in the adjacent trees it landed on. Might have to actually call in a professional.

Wind has been roaring non-stop- and I'm hundreds of miles away from the actual storm center.
Speaking of which, take a look at this real time wind map: http://hint.fm/wind/"

Hold onto your hat, Steinie!

Glad everyone got through ok, I just got my power restored last night. Cleaned up the debris yesterday in my yard, things getting back to "normal". Still many without power on Long Island I hear :( And its getting cold out there. I hope next time people take the warnings a bit more seriously than I had seen on the news, people not evacuating their homes as told. Seems there was a number of fatalities which could have been avoided if I am properly informed on that. :( I am glad everyone here made it through.

Odd. if you switch to Googl Maps Classic there are different photos. You're still there, just in a different spot.

Only 1139 miles ( a mere 17 hour drive) to the jumping off point to Isle Royale National Park. In case you wanted to test your kayak. Or go fishing. Should be a snap.

My theory is he thought Hillary might win.
