I just wanted to do a quick post that in my initial testing Sculptris models seem to load into Messiah without issue, however they are scaled very large. I found that I had to go to the Setup tab (in messiah, not the forum) and scale the object down to 0.01 to see it in the scene.
I've also found a way to load Neurosystem's Substance objects into Messiah, however this is more involved and I had to pass it through Balancer and Sculptris first - and even then Balancer needs to be set up properly. If anyone else needs more specific instructions on this I will be happy to elaborate further (but I still need to do more testing).

Re: Sculptris to Messiah
I was reading over at the Set Up Tab Forum that you should scale your models before importing them into Messiah. More so when you want to rig them.

I remember reading something similar, I'm not sure why that would be. I guess you could import them to TS first and then scale them, there's no facility in Sculptris to do this afaik.

It's good to have a test cube in messiah that is the size of the autorig3 and use that in your modeling package to have the approximate size for your characters.

Re: Sculptris to Messiah
I exported a cube from workspace [edit: crap! I meant to say modelspace, although I will test froo's obj plugin at some point], and it seems that Messiah and TS have the same native scale. This is going to save me a few headaches.
Nice.

Re: Sculptris to Messiah
Yeah, messiah studio is not designed to work with scaled objects. It throws all kinds of things out of whack like; bones, effectors, etc. This threw me off at first too. Definitely avoid scaling objects in messiah studio, especially if you want to deform the object.
There was a thread that discussed the issue some time ago:

Re: Sculptris to Messiah
Thanks for the link, Dele.
Apparently you can export the mesh from messiah after the scale, and then import it again and everything should be zeroed out.
It wouldn't have killed them to have a way to normalize an objects transforms in the app itself. Really, there should be a big neon sign on the manual explaining this "feature" - I wonder how many will give up on messiah before they realize what's going on?
Well, this sorts out my (potential) issues, but definitely a thumbs down for messiah here.
Thanks for the advice, everyone.
