I have to say that I believe that the images at this site is better:

Here you can actually identify persons that you don't even see in the zoomed out pictures (however, you are not allowed to zoom yourself, which is a bummer).

This is for instance one image where you can make out extreme detail from the picture:

Of course, the Paris picture is much larger but it doesn't have so much data for each part of it as these pictures. What I mean is that if you used the gigapixel camera for the same stitched Paris image, you would get much more than 26 gigapixel and you would for instance be able to identify the persons that stands on the Eiffel Tower.

I bet that panorama took a bit of goin' ey? It's like "Where's wally" on steroids
