you can make anything you want, as long as it is in the air/sky and you can live in it ;)

How far from the ground would be considered living in the sky?

Interesting point there steinie. I would think that as long as your main focus it not on the ground you should be golden.

The houses of parliment floating 6 foot off the ground?.. there's enough hot air in politicians to keep it floating for decades

nice concept ;)

if it doesn't touch the ground, it is technically in the sky, so go for it :) even a hovering object would qualify, the rules aren't that strict...

here is a quick idea I threw together last night... basically the building (more to surround it later) sits on a hollow/fibrous disc with wooden ramps and landing legs with a huge floating balloon keeping it aloft and windmills that can be DRIVEN by the wind or TURNED by animals/people to propel the floating village when there is no wind...

It is not for the challenge but "living in the sky" is one of the thing i do for my project. I posted a new video on youtube to show a new version with floating rocks. I explain why here:

No. It is not an animation contest. It's just to animate this topic.

Was in the mood for something else so started this design... basic shape of the ISC-1, inter stellar craft, literally living in the sky... the planet background is a little misleading but it was the only proper backdrop I could find... what I was thinking is this old spacecraft that can't go into space anymore but has been converted to float in atmospheres and house people... kind of ties in with the previous pic I did so I might still add balloons and propeller stanchions later...

Hi rjeff...

It is already spanning 2 months. Started beginning April and ends at the end of May ;) Still about a month to work on it, but if you want more time, we can do that, since there have been no entries in this challenge so far except for mine :(

Who would like a small extension???

I know it has been a two month one already but I've been tied up a lot and haven't had enough time to work on mine. Since we are so few taking part in this one, we could extend it a little longer. How about another week?

What do you say?
