Thanks for the info JimB. I too own Silo and Silo2 so the discount offer could come in handy.
Have you tried Groboto yet and if so what are your thoughts?

Hi Steinie
I'm still reading the manual atm I have a few distractions like the wife etc but Groboto seems to be running a little slow on my system I will enquire on the forums later. I wanted it as a potential hard surface component maker for 3D Coat Pro it should work out ok, imagine making vehical parts and importing them in to Groboto the performing all the assembly stuff then importing in to 3D Coat for all the fancy work. There are paople using Groboto models for sculpting in ZBrush and Sculptris, I think there is a lot of potential with Groboto I will keep you posted on my progress.
Have you tried the Groboto trial yet?
It might be worth while having a look on the ZBrush forums if you have'nt already http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=60734"

Hi pugman 1,
I don't think they call it a bete version but there are some things not yet implemented according to this page http://www.groboto.com/v3/Documentation ... index.html"

Generaly for my purposes anyway it should be ok with a little speed up but you shpuld as always download the trial.

I forgot to mention that I have been using an open Beta of VoidWorld it is being developed as a kind of Silo+ one of the main benifits of VoidWorld is that has a working 3DCoat applink button which as you know makes it painless to transfer models in to 3DCoat as Voxels etc.
I reccomend you take a look at it also developement on it is pretty fast, the current betas do not install they run directly in the download directory.

Groboto v3 x64 running slow is a known problem so I uninstalled it and installed Groboto v3 x86 and so far is working a lot faster,so if you do get the trial or the full version be sure to get the 32bit version.
