Realtime Forum View of Ourspace Activities/Population

Did you folks know that it is possible to create a forum post or thread with a realtime camera in it showing you who is in various OurSpaces and what they are up to?

Check out the last video on the following link page at the bottom.

http://www.siprogs.sk/

Also be sure and download all you can from that site! It's all cutting edge stuff for us to use free thanks to Vladimir Sisolak! :worship: :D

So is it possible to have a live feed of my face projected on an Avatars head in realtime so that it
appears to be me talking? Sort of like the ghost at the end of the ride in "Haunted Mansion" at Walt Disney World.

good question Steinie; hm... maybe that's a question for Vladimir...

so if we can do that with a web page, can we do the same, In The Space?
Another Vladimir question I think.

Hahahaha!!! Cool concept I like it!

Well, lemme see here....

1) We would need you to have a Webcam pointed at your face (best make sure no one is changing in the background too, lol)

2) we would have to attach that Webcam feed to a project to texture D3D device inworld, which we do have, and make the projection target a surface which is an object locked by script to your (blank) avatar face object.

3) We would have to make the projector locked with an offset to your avatar head object and make the projection object invisible inworld.

Short answer....

"Yep!"

Hehehehe!!!

Yes, we sure can!

One of his other tools on that page allows us to bring video in to place the video on an object inside OurSpaces, and it can even be a live feed!

WOOHOO!!!!

LIVE CONCERTS !!!!!!!!!! :bananaguitar: :bananadrum: :bananacheers:

Not only can you view a live concert together inside an OurSpace, you can send a live camera feed of the OurSpace Concert out into the internet, place the live cam view anywhere online, and even send it back inside the same OurSpace on another viewer so the attendees of the Concert inside OurSpace can see themselves in near-realtime on a huge screen in the OurSpace room!!!!

WOOHOO!!! OurSpace Woodstock !!!!!!!!!

You might want to take a look at what Tim Early has created. He has taken tS7 to a whole new world sometime ago.

I SEE SHAMU! COOOOOOOL!!!!
I have to hit the 'Retrieve from URL' button to get an update; not sure if it updates automatically, as is.
Maybe I can add a timer or something, to execute that command repeatedly. May cause a heavy load in'
shared space though

I will have to get it later; I can't download it here at work.
Good one trueBlue!
Can you please repost it here in this thread, in case the Caligari forums disappear?
Thanks!

@ trueBlue: Thanks guy that is absolutely awesome stuff! That will play a vital role in the use of OurSpaces for business and education and cultural purposed scenes to name just a few! :D

@ Froo: It's cool that you have a webcam card hooked there but also Vlad's tools enable us to control objects inside OurSpaces from web controls embedded in any web place, such as a forum post or thread.

Ever play "Rock-Em-Sock-em Robots?"

We could control scripted robot prize fighting from a forum post here now! :superbanana:

Hi 3dv
yeah; I want to get iOptDetectors working in SS too. 3dfrog used it yesterday with trueSpace
and his webcam. trueBlue had a link to Tim Early's webcam viewer
which was already connected to a couple webcams. It was a cut and dried solution so I had to try it.
I wanted to see if we could get a live streaming video in trueSpace/OurSpace and we could. I know
we discussed that an awful lot last year or so, with no solution at the time. So it was Very exciting
to finally see it in action. :) . With iOptDetectors, I didn't have access to any webcams or hookup to test,
from work.

EDIT
Yeah rock em sock em robots! I loved that game! Sweet!

I haven't taken iOptDetectors for a run yet, I am basing my enthusiasm on very careful observations of his related tutorial videos at his site, and I think I have watched and paused and re-run each of them over 200 times now, lol.

Very very capable powerful tools just leaping with untapped potentials! Vlad kicked tail on that stuff for sure! :superbanana:

One of the observations I made in there, is he stated the videos could be placed on the surface of any object, and that is vital to a lot of animated texturing concepts we had all thought up years ago and didn't have the tools to use then. :D

for instance.... Vue atmospheric animations can be imported with iOptDetectors into an online scene and used on a skydome! :D
