Re: Model or 6.6
I don't know what you mean by Model or 6.6... since those two are the same thing.
You want to know if is better using modelside on 7.6 or 7.61?

Re: Model or 6.6
Model side on TS 7.6 is exactly the same than 6.6 if you keep the bridge off. model side icon is a little more beautifull and it have the hdri witch is a good add for the render. You lost a little space on screen because you can't avoid some part of the workspace interface but with a big screen it is not a problem. With bridge off, you lost the name of the current scene at the top/left on the screen. It is a little problem compared to the benefit of the hdri.
important to know: 7.6 open perfectly a 6.6 scene but 6.6 lost the texture when it open a 7.6 scene. An other reason to choose 7.6.

Re: Model or 6.6
I think pugman may be referring to the trueSpace 6 tab at the top of the screen in 7.6. If so, the the question is about model of TS 7.6 vs. whatever teh trueSpace 6 tab does.

Re: Model or 6.6
Also, the 7.6 model side has a BAD bug that tS6.6 does NOT have. Reflective
objects don't reflect the background color. There are ways around this
in 7.6 , but they don't render as fast. This looks like it was broke when they
implemented the newer LightWorks render engine. (When they added
the HDRI). TrueSpace 6.6 has a smaller foot print and the LayOut display
goes all the way to the edges of the screen. Some of the icons in tS6.6
are better than thoes in tS7.6... But over all 7.6 looks rather COOL ! (Except
for the EXTRA menu bars around the edges of the screen.
Believe it or not my favorite thing about tS7.6 is that you can pivot
around selected models faster than in tS6.6. Navigation is a bit zippierr...
Also, cloth and Hair stuff can be moved easily from WorkSpace Side
over the bridge to MODEL Side. TS6.6 and TS7.6 Model side is Really
the Same thing... Very slightly different flavor.... I mostly use 6.6 but
I have both. I just got through loading all my plug-ins I use in 6.6 into
7.6. They ALL SEEM to work fine.......

Re: Model or 6.6
If you have 6.6 ''standalone'', it's better because you are running less things than the 7.6 who runs 2 soft at the same time...

In tS6.6 there was a Foreground Effect Shader to set a Global Environment Map that works with reflective objects. That shader has been removed in tS7.6.
The workaround is to turn on HDRI, turn off the Use Only Env. Lights checkbox, and select a picture file (or avi) as Global Env.
If you set HDRI Light Intensity to zero, render will be as fast as tS6.6's .
