2010 January Monthly Modeling Challenge "A True 3D Building"
Lets start fresh and try something new!!!
To Start the New Year right my Challenge to all of you is:
Pick one...
Challenge #1 Create a TRUE 3D Building on a pedestal that can be viewed from at least 3 Sides.
Challenge #1 You will post THREE views of your completed model showing the front, back, and side.
Challenge #2 Create a TRUE 3D Building on a pedestal that can be downloaded by anyone and viewed by ALL from any angle.
Challenge #2 means you are giving away your model to the rest of us at this forum to enjoy and learn. We will then be able to rotate and
study your model. You will also post THREE views of your completed model showing the front, back, and side.
Both Challenges will place their Model on a Platform and all accessories like lamp post, trees, sidewalk, birds, utility poles etc must be contained on the platform.
It is your choice if you would like to texture your scene. The focus in this Challenge will be the miniature world you have created on the platform
with the building being it's main character.
Overview:
The idea, as created by Jack, is to have a challenge that is geared towards the complete 3D development cycle from concept through modeling, surfacing, lighting, rendering, and any post processing (environmental enhancement).
Basic Rules:
1) Use your own work. No pre-made purchased or free models, please. The idea is to share what you can create inside of trueSpace!
2) Start a Work In Progress Thread (WIP) for your submission. There is no limit as to how many separate art work WIPs you desire to create!
3) Depending on the Challenge you select Three images must be in your final post as explained above.
4) Final image submissions should be no larger than 800 x 600 in dimensions. A link to your WIP is also suggested (even though I'm sure that most people are viewing them during your creative process)...A WIP is a fun and entertaining place to be !!!
5) TrueSpace should be the primary tool but other 3D Programs are allowed. Post processing with a Paint Program to enhance lighting or environment presentation is fine.
Background images are fine but no objects are allowed off the platform!!!.
Deadline:
This Month's competition will start January 1st and will continue until January 25th at midnight (whatever midnight is in your time zone).
Voting Poll will end on January 31st at Midnight in your time zone.
The Winner will be announced Feb 1st.
The Winner’s art work then gets the privilege of being in the MMC Winner's Gallery and also has the honor of picking a topic and hosting next month's MMC
If the Winner from the previous Month receives the most votes in this Challenge the second place winner will become the new Host for next Month.
Most of all "Have Fun"!
Ps. Because it is the holiday season and this is a tougher challenge, we can change the timelines if enough requests/agreements are made...

We need more entries folks! I'm sure there is a building out there somewhere you
always wanted to model.
It could be as easy as an old cardboard box converted into a kid's playhouse or as complex as an Old Cathedral with a 100 grave sites...
There are still two weeks left! Plenty of time.
Join the Fun!
