blender 2.57 Released
blender just released a new version of their opensource 3D application. Version 2.57 has a major interface overhaul. It's new layout is somewhere between Softimage/Lightwave & Photoshop. This may help me wrap my brain around this thang, finally.

Re: blender 2.57 Released
As told in other posts, wait for BMesh to be implemented. Blender is still not able to handle N-Gons. Which means the modeling is very limited. Try to redirect an edgeloop and you will find out what i mean. I guess BMesh will arrive with Blender 2.6. And then we might see all the polytools appear that are standard in trueSpace since years.
But overall, i really like Blender now. It is part of my pipeline since a pretty while. It has some pretty neat features like sculpting and LSCM/ABF unwrapping. And it has a working and stable bones system, even when it`s a bit hard to learn and to handle
