Automatic login. Try blocking then allowing cookies from U3DA. Just a guess but the cookies could be coming from a different source now.

My log in never gets remembered. I'm logged in and I can login again as the entries are empty. I can log in as both stan and admin at the same time. My layout stays the same until I go to 'Board index' and every time it changes back to the orange and brown layout and I can login again.
I did clear all my cookies in firefox but nothing changed the situation..

There are some things going on. I've done some research and others experience and solutions don't match up. While testing I noticed that the "Forum" button shows a bad link and the "Board index" breadcrumb link also has a bad link.

Code: Select all

This is what a good link looks like
index.php?sid=168461dfc6f765e3704d364bd8bdcc54

Board index
http://united3dartists.com/?sid=168461dfc6f765e3704d364bd8bdcc54forum

forum button
http://united3dartists.com/forum
Avoid those links/buttons and only use the back button will maintain the login. Temp workaround for now.

I wonder if it may be a php version...

This is my plan.

update the forums from 3.0.4 to 3.0.14 by replacing the code files, leaving the data in place
use the database tools available in the new version to fix some problems
The whole process should take about an hour

As it is now there are a couple of missing database items and some missing files. This was true on the old forum as well.
There are also old remnants of some kind of domain mod which will be removed by the database tool and the code file replacement.

In the mean time avoid the Forum button and the Board index link in the breadcrumbs. Use your browsers back button to get back to the top of the forum. This doesn't help coming fresh to the forums but at least you won't be logged out while in them.

Updated and cleaned the forum. The logout problem should be solved. All extra stuff has been removed or deactivated so the Twilight and Aero themes are not available.

If you still have troubles try clearing your cookies and you can send an email to united3d@clintons3d.com

Thank you Clintonman for all your work on the move and the upgrade.

The "view active topics" link doesn't work. It never shows anything. It is hard to visit the forum and see what is happening without that. The system may have lost the history used for that in the move but there has been some activity since then. The new posts feature works but it is not the same as showing posts or threads ordered by date-time of activity. This should be possible without logging in too.

If I understand you, it's in the control panel, edit avatar, and choose upload avatar in the avatar type drop down.
Did I have an avatar before, I don't remember.

I have been able to stay logged in for some time now.
But today I went to the Repositorum/trueBlues Repository, and when I select a Link, I get logged out.
Tired twice with the same results.

It's fixed now and it was the sample I needed to find a way to force https on the whole forum.

Just curious, there has been little activity, and I haven't been able to make the unread notification icon on a thread to dissappear. Is everything all hunkydory?

I want to do another trueSpace project soon.. I've been consumed by the vastness of Blender and it's inconsisten python systems, though it's capable...

Bitkar is here! Welcome back!

@Draise This is my busy season for work so I don't have time for CG. Wish I had time for the vastness of Blender. I'd guess others are busy too, enjoying summer, not interested in CG anymore, don't use TS anymore (I don't), can't log in*, got scared when we were hacked and didn't come back ... Also a vicious circle where people see low activity so they don't participate so low activity. Just guessing.

*If you can't log in try using the "contact us" link at the bottom of the forum's pages to let admin know. If that doesn't work contact someone who is active through email, their website, or social media. There are contact links under some members avatars on posts. That person can relay a message to admin for you.

U3DA's history is TrueSpace so most of its content is too. TS is gone. There will be few new users. Old TS'ers have and will fade away from TS. That's why there is no one here. The web friends Steinie calls the "dirty dozen" still drop in but my hope that U3DA would continue with those who find it a friendlier place for CG regardless of software isn't happening.

To all the CG artists who moved to other software and other forums or websites: You are welcome here too.

It's just niche. But yeah, talking of Blender, BFA, DAZ, anything is more than welcome. I will keep posting whatever here and I have yet still to produce one last juice squeeze from trueSpace for love sake.

Because I saw that happen I was one of the first to push a lot of other stuff... othee then TS! Its still a good software and I still use it pretty much....but not exclusivly! Main reason is that the scenes that I make nowadays are much to big for it! They dont load!
But for modeling its still awsome!
What I can do is start to host some pretty good links to some very good tutorials!....
I can also invite people from other forums!
I will try my best!

Ps:I'm actually into iclone lately because its a good way to animate in realtime.. and also render in realtime..something you have mocaped with 2 or 3 webcams... or a kinetic!
So thats a pretty interesting new spin to it.. something I found through an old Truespacer... Mr Bones from the old forums!

Nice new forum! Great job team. :bananathumb: .

I have returned. :bananahi: I am still using Truespace exclusively and do not plan at this point to stop or try to learn another 3d program. Do we have a development request section for ideas to continue tweaking Truespace if that is possible still?

iI’s funny to see one of Roman’s earlier items start to show up on Facebook. Trueplay (I think) but without the modeling part. :bananamad:

I have seen Zuckerberg doing that avatar feature and it reminded me of Trueplay . I wonder where we would be in Caligari land if Roman would have continued along the path that was started? :D

Glad you are still here carrying the torch! :bananadrum: :bananaguitar: :worship:

There is a forum with scripts and things, and you can talk to Clinton or Trueblue (I think) and Stan, they are still sometimes working on things for trueSpace, though lately not often other than Clinton. I love his work. Clinton does seem to favour the WS of trueSpace, and me too - feel much more modern and still capable. I have done a little work myself, haha, and am debating if I should even do a full private project with trueSpace.. but still debating. lately I've been slowly falling more in love with Bforartists, where Tiles is the lead developer there and has been throwing a lot of trueSpaces philosophy into the development.
