We have the 15 th September tomorrow and not a sign of news on the Truespace status.....
The site is still open but eventually we will probably want to fill the gap between what we already have what features
we still need....
any thoughts on how to get those.
What do you guys expect for your future in 3d and how are you planning to get it..... ?
I think that 3D it's one of the most promissory T.I. area and the power might be unimaginable in some years. Bringing 3D to reality will be something easy as print a poster in two decades in the max, technology advances faster every second that pass so it makes difficult to forecast, anyway 3D will get better and be sure of that.
I think I'll use 3D in the future as a hobby or a possible job or hobby and use for self benefit!

Due to lack of money I'll probably stay with TS or use/include Blender.
What I'd like to do is migrate to Modo + Messiah + Vue or to Lightwave + Vue and use TS where I like it better. I want a GI renderer integrated or as a plugin and character animation.
I'd like to turn my hobby into a job and live the dream many of us here have or at least get a some extra money from it.

With all the changes that Occur and how quickly they come, I find it difficult to spend as much money as they are asking for a program that will be out of date, and require additional funding within a year or two.
when I probably break down and buy the program, it will end up being Vue, to support large scenes. I can model still in TS and Blender and import to Vue for texture, material, scene and render. I like that work flow and can support enough poly's to make truely impressive scenes.

some good insight there folks... i´m also interested in what plugins for truespace you are interested in..
If I migrate to other soft will be just when TS can't be used anymore may I migrate to other soft and this soft could be Blender, free and with a good quality! I don't have any money to spend with 3D arts just my allowance that my parents give to me every month but it can't buy any good 3D software that of course is above 100 dollars, I can't pay for anything above that amount. But after ten years when I'll be established as a adult and will spend big amount of money I'll direct a good amount to 3D arts in general

In the short term I will be focusing on using "Vuespace" and 3D Coat for illustration and animation.
After that I hope to get a game project underway so only time will tell for sure...

Love trueSpace, does everything I need for now...but I just know that fur, hair, particles and fluids will eventually lead me elsewhere. Maybe Blender will become more useable; certainly has the power.
How I said before in others forums: I'd love Truespace as a person!

It is curious that the fans are more demanding than the professionals. I use an old soft for the photo that has not existed since 2001 and I use Photoshop only when I am obliged. It's the same thing with 3d: all that I can not do with Truespace will be made with other software. For now it is almost 100%. The choice of tools is of course depending on the evolution of my work, not buying the best. If I used 3d only for fun, probably I would have the top to test. When I work for design product, is different: I want the simplest way for me to concentrate on the essentials: the creation. Maybe because 3d is not the most important thing in my work (design product): it is just an image to show what i propose. Since 2 years i do animations for tv and 3d become the final product. I think animation will be the first reason to choose a soft for the future. I would like something as simple as the keyframe editor of the model side with no script or other technic for programmers not artist. I don't like LE, script, add many plugins to have a "finished soft" with thousand of Rsobjetc. It look like a "do-it-yourself" soft. Sorry but workspace is a very beautiful and unusable tool for my work. I have no idea what is the best soft for me in the futur. I'm not worried. This will be a surprise.
Whatever comes for the future of ts, I am not that worried anymore, I have grieved over the loss of caligari, that may sound silly but I really love the software and hated to see caligari end. The reason I am not worried is because ts should be useable to as long as the technology dates it, and I think that should be a good run. There is so much I do in ts, modeling, rigging and animating game models, the workspace poly reduction tool is very good too, whenever I get a model from someone i run it through ts and tidy it up too. That is just a few things I do in it. I love the realtime render where I get a pretty good idea of how it will come out in the end, and i use it for all my turbosquid preview pics.
I really hope Roman or someone finds a way to extend the life of this application for many many more years, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

That passage caught my eye.
My primary motivation of downloading and installing Truespace 7.61b8 was to see if I could make some models and export them as MD3 models for use in a game for which I build maps. However, since this is my first 3D program I'm a bit (make that majorly) lost. Could somebody advise me on the subject, please.
Do you of course can do games with Truespace, but first you need to know how to use it, in some weeks you will can do some good objects
Any problem just contact us!

Edit: Of course and the first thing you need to do it's download and/or see all those tutorials http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSp ... undamental"
They are really good and easy to understand and you can do step by step if you download the resources too!
Keep Practicing
