So the program I am on is moving to Maryland. We've already lived on the east coast and prefer to stay here in Colorado. This will happen starting April 2014, ending October 2014. As we're told, we have a job til October 2014. One person, out of 500, volunteered to move out there. He's an adventurous one though - lived in Dubai, and elsewhere. So...
I am approaching a crossroads in my career. I feel I've put in more than my fair share with this particular company, in this particular line of work, so to speak. And I want to do something different. I am still strongly interested in software development for computer graphics, so we'll see what I can find here in the Denver metroplex for that line of work. Alongside that, we are pursuing voice over work and acting. Yes v/o can be done, it just takes marketing, discipline, and commitment. The acting is really for fun and creativity - who knows though... we may land a commercial or two. I am also helping out on independent film sets from time to time. But, I have to determine where to go next. I have to choose a road, at the crossroads.

It does sound like a crossroads, I hope the path you always wanted will be clear, and that the transition of changing paths will be smooth. Hope the fun parts of what you do will continue to be what you always wanted to do, and more, something you can live off!

No, no, you loved it on the east coast and hate it in Colorado. It's terrible out west and almost everyone here would be much happier as far from Colorado, and New Mexico, as they can get ... Dubai! Your co-worker liked Dubai. They should go there. (Come on Froo. If you're going be a western guy you have to help keep it uncrowded ... uh I mean ... it is sooo crowded here, terrible, terrible).

You've already moved to Colorado to work at that company right? Moving every few years isn't good. Certainly time for a change. Good that you've got a lot of possibilities for other work but you only have a year to start earning a living at one of them so pick one to be the main thing to try.

I hope you get into something fun that pays well too.

Yes, we are tired of moving. We love it here in Colorado; we respect the land. There's no way we're moving back East. We moved East not by choice, that's for sure.

On a different note: well well well. Looks like my wife and I landed at least one voice role in an animated feature. There's no pay but we get experience. Nice! Very excited about this. We are sending out the NDA's today. Woohoo! I think this provides some validation for our skills as voice over artists.

Checked today to find I've already hit my 10 year mark with this company so, I've qualified for at least a certain amount of retirement pension. That means if I found a job tomorrow I could switch in two weeks. That's a weight off my back.

In other news, Nellja's agent is writing, directing/producing a short film and cast Nellja as a gypsy. Nice. We'll see where that goes (for the future ). I offered to help on set as P.A. (Production Assistant). Looks like I'll be up in Frederick CO August 4 at 6 A.M. That's an hour north of us so, it'll be fun.
