Uh-oh! This isn't good!

Post by Kurt »

I just checked my Norton monthly report, and in the list of threats detected, there's an entry mentioning "Primal Particles".

The report detected "PrimalParticles1.7.2-ts5-setup.exe" as a "high" risk. It doesn't say why, or what virus is embedded or whatever, but it obviously detected something bad enough to automatically remove it.

JUst thought I'd bring this to the Board's notice, since I guess there are plenty of us who installed that app.

Probably a false positive.
Scanned it here and it came up clean.

Do you have the heuristics set to aggressive? That catches a lot of stuff but also creates more false positives.

Dito.

I always have such problems if i scan with ANTIVIR. This founds always my selfwritten programs in BlitzBasic, BlitzMax, PureBasic or/and FreeBasic. And i'm sure i don't have progged a Virus 8-)

If the "Guard" is on i also cannot run a compiled program in Debugging Mode for testing - Antivir then drives me crazy and i have to switch of the Guard. Such "positive" founds are normal for any antivirus programs because it is not possible (today) to check 100% correct.
I still use TrueSpace 6.6
