This is how the streets look like here in snowy little Vienna.
The pictures are all from yesterday night.....
If you have any pix from where you live it would be cool to see them.....

Last saturday during the few hours off sun that day. See how low the sun is and it is about midday.
Perhaps a bit dark but it is always hard to get a good shot into the sun...

Thank you Marcel and Leonregis. The photo is from my hometown in Sweden, Gävle, about 180 km north of Stockholm. We recently got the snow actually, it have been an unusually warm autumn here. Now it is more normal. Monday was the shortest day with winter solstice so from now on until summer solstice each day will become longer...
Contrary to popular beliefs, we have no polar bears roaming the streets here. We doesn't even have any reindeers this long south and close to the coast.
One cool thing about this photo is that you can see the sea actually smoking. The ice only extends a bit from shore and the water was much, much warmer than the cold air on this day (it was about -15 degrees C in the air and the water was perhaps +2 C) so the water was giving a cool fog effect.

Snow above 6000 feet or so this morning. Sunny now. The city puts decorations on the light poles. They are lit at night.
I went to a nearby town last night to get pictures of the luminarias at the old Spanish style church there. None there but maybe tomorrow. A luminaria is a brown paper bag with sand and candle in it. The church and usually the sidewalks and street are decorated with hundreds of them for Christmas.
Most decorations here are on people's houses. I'll see about getting photos of some.
