I am trying to create an animation of a soap bubble being blown by a child and moving up inthe air.
Problem is that I can't get a realistic look of a bubble either with Lightworks or VRay : I would like the bubble to act like a lens over the background, and to slightly reflect it.
The background is animated (see first picture below), and the soap texture could be this one :
Did anyone ever tried to make this sort of render ?
Any advice on shader settings ?

At the moment, here is the best result I get, with Lightworks :

I tried bubbles awhile ago, but with Thea, but that has a interference value on thin film (usually used for windows) that gives you the colours.
I know it doesn't help your quest much but I'll post the pic, the bubble in the forground has thin film with interference and the colour map you posted set as a coating with its weight value low, the other two are just thin film with interference.
I think Kerkythea has similar thin glass/film values so if all else fails with TS is always an option
The HDRI came from here: http://www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/archive.html"

I think the transparency map is not the solution. a bubble is empty and homogeneous. for a best realism try with 2 sphere. one is smaller but almost identical in size. invert the normal of this sphere. both sphere have a glass shader but with less reflexion for the sphere inside. use a hdri with no shadow to create the reflexion of the environment who overlay with the colored texture. i think you must have about 60% reflexion hdri and 40% color of the texture in the final render.
For the anim, the spheres need to deform a little and very quickly as a vibration.
here is a real photo of a bubble to see the hdri+the colored texture. the sphere inside can simulate the "empty look" of a bubble as you can see on the photo.
Thanks for the pictures and ideas Nigec and Marcel.
Here is what I found, using Chikara's EdgeAlpha shader (another must-have extension ! Ah, Chikara we miss you !)
My wife said it is convincing. I hope it will be realistic enough in the video...

yes it is really better. i don't knowThe Chikara's EdgeAlpha shader. Is this shader free? where can i find it? i would like to test it.
You must copy it into your Shaders Material folder. It will show up in the transparency shaders library for selection from the Material Editor.
With settings by default, it adds transparency on the edges of an object.
In the soap bubble case, I simply inverted the values to make the center transparent
