refractive DirectX shader

Post by renderwerx »

I'm just gonna start with my system specs as this seems to be asked first

Win 7 64 bit

DirectX 11
Pixel Shader 3
2 GigaByte dedicated graphics card

CPU - 2.5 GHz

I'm trying for months to find a tutorial how to create a refractive shader with the link editor
Would have to be a step by step without gaps tutorial workshop

can anyone PLEASE help me?

kind regards, hugs, kisses.... whatever you want or it takes
PLEASE help me on this

thanks

there's no tutorial for that, also there's real time shader to do that.. maybe it's possible with some HLSL coding. but i have no idea how to achieve that goal.. i remember one shader created by NOKO that looks like refractive. Far as i can remember he used a camera.

I'll try to see if i saved something about that.. nOKO where are you!!! hahahaha

There are tools out there to shorten the process of writing a shader. Rendermonkey is the AMD approach. FX Composer the NVidia approach.

I cannot say if this fits to the in truespace used shaders though. But it`s worth a try :)

Here is an example tS7.6 scene that uses the Render to Texture that can be connected and constrained (LookAt) to the Eye Camera for the included Cube's Refraction (Realtime) material. Be sure to Disconnect the Camera2Eye before leaving this scene.
