Still building up my new pc ,vidio card and ram now .
First i am notsure which card to get one of the top nvidia gtx 6 Serie
Or the asus hd 7970 platinum .i like the hd series but i think the nvidia cards
are better for 3d work,as for ram 32 gig mushkin or 32 gig vengence from corsair
Any thoughts on this would help me decide

Question ! Do you need good Cuda support ie for example for 3d Coat or for realtime render..
then the answer is clearer...

I agree with Rayman, the main consideration is software specific use of vid card settings. Otherwise I have preferred nvidia cards for the last 5 pc's I have put together.

My current machine....

The key for your memory decision is to read the forums of your mobo manufacturer to check for user feedback. Asus forums are really good for leaving bad notices as well as good.

I have started gaming a bit i want to set up 3 moniters to use

need a better mouse mine lags to much, thinking of the razer mamba

An impressive piece of engineering.... I would test drive one but my budget is ... light.

My vote goes for NVidia..

I have a i7 3770k, Nvidia 680 OverClocked, 16 giga ram and SSD harddrive.
Is enough for Word and Excel.

My machine has an I7-2600K, but overclocked at 4000GHZ. My video card is not really that cool, it's an ATI FirePro V5800 (FireGL) at 1 Gig of vid RAM, not my choice of card, but it's a work one. Also has 8 gig of DDR 3 RAM of 1600 mhz.. 16gig would be nice.

My home vid card is much better.

If you like CUDA, go for Nvidia, most unbiased render engines run better with CUDA, but if you want to have OpenCL support, which is a less monopolized and opensource (though less documented) code for graphics, also might be better in the future, use one that will run OpenCL.

If all else fails, go with the numbers, whichever card has a higher MHZ gpu processor (found that actually helps a lot), processor threads, cores (if it's even multicore) and Video RAM, also make sure it's a DDR5 card, or higher, and that your port on the motherboard can hack it, also make sure the powersupply can support a card of such a size and then possibly overclock it later. You can find good ones with all round rating in the numbers for good prices without having to get the latest of the latest at it's hiked price.

I am happy with my card due to that exact research approach. I have not overclocked it though.

I have an old GTS 240 1 gigabyte, Nvidia, I actually use the CUDA in 3DCoat. Never had a problem with it. Don't play any of the new games, so can't address that other than I suck at mmorpg or first person shooters.

I have an Nvidia GeForce FX5200 with 256 MB. I think it runs at 250MHz.
