Someone convert animations from 761 to66

Post by seppgirty »

I know that there is a script/plug in that will convert animations from the 761 workspace to 66 model side. For some reason i am to stupid to install plug ins in 761.

What i want to do is import the FPSC game creator animated skeleton. (saved as a bvh file) into TS and then save it as a .cob file so it can be exported as a .x file. (the tsx one not the built in one) If this works, i think it will boost the TS user numbers :bananahi: I'm attaching the bvh file in this post......... I've played this animation in 761 and it works fine...

Thank you guys for the help

Just to be clear, i need it to be an animated .cob file

Here's a zip with both the COB and X. The X was created with the TrueX plugin. Let us know if it works or not. Thanks, Leroy.

Bummer, both were exported as a single object?

I've been playing with that, but it seems to only export one bone and no animation. If you have any advice for me, i would be greatfull.

@ bng

Thank you very much. I will play with this later.

I will post any progress in this post..

@ bng

Sorry, but it seems neither skeleton has animations. and for some reason the .cob has over 6000 faces. Not sure what that is about...

Thanks again, i'll bug you later. :)

FYI: Bones in Model and Bones in Workspace are a different format and are NOT interchangeable. In other words you can not save a Workspace's Skeleton nor Clips in a cob format.
I exported your bvh in Workspace's X in uncompressed text format.(32MB) I can see all bones and animation data in the file.
I changed the Play range to 2497.

WOW that made it work!!!!!!! Why did changing that one frame make it work?

I exported just like you said and then opened it in fragmotion and it played the animation. It also kept the joint names...

Thanks alot trueblue that helped a lot. :bananacool2:

I'll post more questions and updates in this thread.

Just wondering if there is some sort of bug with the weight paint tool? I am running 761 beta 8 with no updates and i can not for the life of me get the weight paint tool to work.

I attach skin to skeleton and that kind of works. But the weight paint will not work.... I have read the manual several times and watched the included videos.

Here is a simple "mummy" character i'm trying to rig to the Fpsc skeleton

The trueSpace 7.61 Beta 8 Unofficial Update fixes that and several other things.

Was just reading on the Fpsc board and some one mentioned that TS exports it's .x as DWORD and i guess FPSC doesn't like DWORD. IS there any way to change that by editing the .x in word pad?

Do i make sense?

Thanks guys

As I recall that information is related to bone envelopes? Yes you can edited the file, but changing information in the file might corrupt it making it unusable. I've seen so many variants of the X model format that most people don't like using it for all that much.
