Can the SCN format be used to export a model?
I read on another forum that the COB format has some trouble converting to other model formats due to issues with the hierarchy changing verses exporting as SCN which preserves the heirarchy better then the COB format. I know the COB format has changed as newer versions of Truespace emerged, but has the SCN format remained essentially unnchanged until RSSCN for 7.6 was released? Thanks, BNG.

Well it depends on whether there is a quality package that accepts the SCN format.
I am not sure about that, to tell you the truth.

The file SCN converter I use is an older version of 3D Exploration. Has the SCN format changed with each new version of Truespace? Also, what version of COB does Gamespace use? I've converted COB models to XSI with GS, but the geometry is always distorted on the XSI model. However, when using the version 6 out of TS 7.6 the COB to XSI models seem to fair better as far as model geometry looking the way I made the model in TS. Does Gamespace use the version 5 COB? Thanks.froo wrote:Well it depends on whether there is a quality package that accepts the SCN format.

Hm I do not know which version of the COB format GameSpace uses. But yes, the COB format changed with each release of trueSpace.
In the SDK docs, I believe, the latest version of the COB format is 6.5. I am pretty sure this version works with tS 6.6 as well.
