Box man character

Post by JimB »

I posted this Boxman "Guide" in the gameSpace forums quite a while back but in case anyone finds it useful I will post it here, just dont throw rotten vegatables in my direction
It is pretty self explanatory I think.

A question that keeps cropping up is how to make character models.

The easiest way to get a reasonable looking character model started is to make a box man.
The image below shows the beginings of how I make a character in GameSpace 1.6.
I will try to expand on this in the future but hopefully this might kick start some would be character modelers

Further enhancements after cutting in some edges which hopefuly shows how easy it is to add to the base model.

Your tutorial is excellent stuff JimB. I love tutorials, which are more inspiration as the 'step by step' instructions.
I would only add as info for those, who are interested in modeling with reference images. The image used in your tutorial (and a lots of another useful pics) can be found and obtained for free there:

http://www.the-blueprints.com/

Thanks for that Jim :)
