Anybody heard of this?

Post by rjeff »

Ok I have been looking for some acurate dimensions for legos, so I can continue on with my stomper scene. Well after much searching I came across a guy who has done a tutorial with all forms of lego blocks using a program called Pro Desktop. I have it downloaded, but I haven't used it yet. I hope that it can export the legos in to a format I can use in TS. Anybody have any experience with this?

Funny but awhile ago a guy was going to do a Lego 3D challenge and LDraw was THE 3D lego mecca

I think you can get obj or 3DS exporters, but if I remember right its a pain in the butt to assemble them, but when stuff is annoying I have the attention span of a fruit fly :?
maybe collision detect might help, but I think I tried that and it treated the hole as solid.. could be wrong tho.. I usually am lol

If you got a some LEGO pieces at home, you can measure it and build it in a CAD program. I'm sure that isn't to hard, I've seen some people at my school do it.

I have tried to measure them. The problem is I can't get them right because of how small they are.

Thanks for the link Stiene. I checked it out, and unless I just overlooed it, I did not see any acutal height and width sizes for the legos. Ray I can make them in TS if I can just get some good dimensions.

model them yes but production is something different.. with stl you could produce pieces that fit together with the original... made 1 : 1 for casting...
