Hi all what im looking to do is add a third moniter to my system.
At the moment i have two wide screens conected to my ati fire pro .the card has 3 conection ports
2 hdmi and one dvi ,when i connect the third moniter i loose my main moniter and my second moniter says not connected ,
is ther a way to connect all three as extended as in keep my main moniter and the other two as left and right.
i want the 3 so i can have 2 apps running and the internet at the same time.

ok ok.. i'm going to be annoying and ask the obvious ... Do you have the latest drivers for it?

Im not sure if it is the latest driver ,i can tell it how many moniters but that does not work there must be
another setting .if i need a driver which should i get .im not good with this
side of things

What is the graphics card model exactly? Then either I or you can search for the latest driver for it online. Maybe that may help give you more control over the monitors.

Also, in the video card manual, does it support multi-monitor support or just dual?

I will chime in on this as I have to deal with in many occasions.
Most likely your card only supports the use of the use of the 2 hDMI or 1 DVI.
Now you can buy a splitter for the DVI that will allow the use of two monitors off of it and then use one of the HDMI outputs.
You can also purchase a video splitter box which is like having an external video card and will allow multiple configurations.
Without spending alot of money to be honest I think you are just going to chase your tail and get no where fast.
One more thing to consider is that on some Mother boards it will support the use of more than one video card.
Consult with the Manf for info on this as you may be able to get by with this little trick.

Hi jeff ,my mother board can use 2 cards but at 600 euros for the second card i think
ill try the other way with the splitter as long as i can use all three with one mouse and key board

The splitter will give the same image on both of those monitors, so you will be stretching your desktop out.
You could add a less expensive video card into the other slot to see if you get the desired look.
The splitter should be around 5 to 7 US Dollars.

Ok that is not what i need with the splitter ,
May be istick with two pcs running and two keyboards

and as far asi can tell suports 3 moniters the card is a ati fire pro v7800 2gigram.
I have still got thecard i took out its a ati hd 5870 also 2 gig that card has 2 hdmi and 3 dvi
But the ati pro suports vue to the full ,it is a work staition card

Well if you are using 2 pc's and 2 keyboard and 2 mouses then you can invest in a KVM switch which will allow you to use one keyboard and one mouse for both computers.

Ok now i know how and why only 2 moniters work. my fire pro card has 3 ports
1 dvi ,1 hdmi, 1 dp . so what i need is one moniter for each port of the card with the proper connection.
what my set up is missing is a moniter with the dp port, so it cant work without this conection.

So now you tell us this....
