After watching all three Challenges suffer because of extensions (some of it caused by me)
I would like to suggest that all three have one month deadlines again with NO extensions.
This will keep them fresh and entertaining. I think the extensions have gone stale and we
have become lazy because of it.
Please consider this when setting up your next Challenge.

Agree. There don't have to be a lot of entries to have a winner, be informative, and be interesting to those not competing. Part of the contest is to create a project that you can finish in time. That is a good skill for work so developing it is good.

That's good to see Steinie.
Too bad there's not a 'speed coder' competition.
I don't think we'd want that anyway; everyone that tried
to check out the build would crash!

Re: Challenges back to 1 Month again
yeah, the extentions were initially to try and get more participants but that didn't and like you said, it makes us lazy. so yeah, whoever does the next one, please let us stick to 1 month again.
i must say though that it did help me a lot this time otherwise i would not have had time with work and all...

Don't worry!leonregis wrote:Sorry very much, that was my fault
No! It is the fault of nobody. There was a poll for that and the majority decided to extend the challenge. Now we know those who want to participate do the challenge or not if they have no time (when you miss a train, you take the following).
Because we are a small group (of real activ users), it is easier to know how many people want to participate after one or two week after the announce of the challenge. No need to wait if new people want to joint later, except if an activ user was on vacation.
Nice to see you again here Leon!
