Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

One law that violates every part of the First Amendment. That's quite an accomplishment.

Sadly, it really doesn't surprise me as the FCC wants to regulate everything. I work in the TV industry at a non profit Christian TV station and the FCC about killed the station a few years back when HDTV was mandated for all broadcast TV stations to upgrade their equipment or lose their license to broadcast in the U.S. What can we do though?

The people need to remember who were the first
to take away the freedom and give it to the big
global players...... and no its not the whole world

This is a U.S. law not other countries or a treaty or such. Most countries already have much worse control over the internet and speech and everything. Most countries don't and never did have freedom to lose. These things have happened to America because the people have thrown away the strength and virtue that makes one worthy of freedom and able to keep it and have become like the subjects of those other countries.

So very true, this system though never a democracy (Funny thing. In the over than 4000 words of our Constitution, I heard that not once is the word 'Democracy' mentioned. I posit that it was avoided on purpose) is one that is unique throughout all history. It offers the people, the masses, the slaves, the servants, the workers... the power to Actually rule themselves for once. With the possibility of honest justice for all.
And yet...

I pose this question to the Americans among us...
If you had time to watch a tv show for an hour, when was the last time you watched C-Span... for ANY length of time. Just to see what is being said, done, and how it's being defended by 'your representative in government'?
How about movies. I bet if I said "have you heard of 'The Green Mile'?", most of you would know the film. But how many of you have heard of 'The Green Zone'? How many mention That in conversation?

... get it?
Do you really think anyone will care about Your world ... more than You??

Difference is the US citizens were asked through elections what
direction the WESTERN... world would lead to..... most others had to accept!

Peter, in a population of roughly 200 million possible opinions when only a few thousand make the effort, by and large the masses pacify themselves with the thought that people in office will do what's best and don't get involved in discourse, even as they berate all politicians 'as crooks/assholes'. But like any household, business, or govt, one must keep tabs, ask questions, ponder, if the 'ship is on course'. The 'course' is the laws we have. The 'spirit' of what they were enacted for. Enter attorneys, legaleze, and private interests and you have what we have today. The Wonderful social pieces of paper called the Constitution and Bill of Rights are being twisted to the point of making them almost meaningless.
The short of it: We the people are not exercising our Responsibility to keep the concept, ideals, and law as intentioned, in the forefront of our interests. To sit in a cafe or on Facebook and complain, yet not spend any time looking into the subject of our discontent, is meaningless, hopeless, and plays right into the hands of those trying to usurp what is.
In Europe, you all spend many hours talking politics. In the U.S., it is frowned upon in public. Worse, one may be targeted for it nowadays by the very same 'democratically elected' govt. In the system that is the free-est, giving their citizens a very effective way of effecting change if needed, we care the least. So something like bulk data collection, targeting dissenting groups, creating outrageous classifications like 'domestic terrorist' for our own people/citizens, and having 'international law' over-ruling our domestic laws...( in our own country!)... well, that's what one gets... for not giving a shit and believing blindly and not appreciating what wiser men before us have continuously warned about.

Pacification is convenient, but not healthy.

C-Span is your friend. We paid for it, shouldn't we at least see what's on?

Here's a question: how many of us in the US can name the subject and in what context the 3 phrases spacekdet mentioned come from?
