They were crowding the scene. I Muted the colors. >

It looks good, I like it.
Question, how much detail does the astros and ships have? If they have nice detail, consider changing the camera angle to get a closer view of them, maybe close to ground level looking up at the planet?
Ps. Did you do the planet and ring yourself?

The astronaut and the ships are just background elements. I thought the scene needed it, being a retro sci-fi scene.I modeled the ships quickly in Blender. The astronaut was from a NASA site that offers up free models.
The background planet was a re-do of a tutorial in gimp. the ring is just a tilted plane with a transparency map of the ring.
