Forum slowdown?

Post by compPanda »

Ok, is this only me or is this forum losing momentum?
Is it only my illusion or is the posts going down?
I feels like it is slower nowdays, there are fewer post and so forth but I might be wrong.
Any official statistics?

And if it slowing down - why? It is still winter so it can't be better weather at least - I look out and see 1½ meter snow and -5 degrees Celsius.. ;)

I think too but is a minimal change... for me it keeps the same but the most affected area is the general discussion. I don't see there any good debate in months!

The only statistic I know is this: me ... file&u=407"

Processing this stats: In the apex I had 12 posts per day, what was a bit excessive and also I used to start some debates (what I don't do anymore) so I think this is my side... Clearly I had a slowdown.

But I would like to know things as who is active member, who posts daily, weekly and a timeline saying how many posts this month had, last month, 2 months ago and so on...

Just a little slower but it is normal. At the begining we need to discuss about what to do with a new forum, the end of caligari, the futur of TS, new soft to replace or work with TS, etc... now it is not necesary to discuss again about the same topics. All we need is to create good stuff if we want to see the forum active. It is why all soft are welcome.
Another reason can be the crisis and all problem some people can have: search a new job, a new home, etc...

Well we are not as slow as the Caligari Site
There is still a lot of traffic here and we are still getting long term
trueSpace users. They mostly read the stuff we write and occasionally
reply. There are hardcore members here who enjoy the interaction.

My thoughts?
Everyone look at themselves, if you think we are worth it then
contribute your time here. Nothing gets under my skin more then someone talking
about problems rather then trying to fix the problem. We need participation to survive.
I think we are doing pretty darn good since we don't give away prizes, there are many making the
software better, many of you offer help with problems or issues, there is secret software slowly being
developed, VRay issues are trying to be addressed, we still continue to have contest trying to create
interest and we do have future plans.
Maybe all this will be rewarding, for me it already is.

I'm not very chatty anyway unless I have something useful to say.. which is very rare  but I'm busy beta testing Thea, the downside as any tester will know you can't actually talk about it or show anything! which is a big bummer coz I've done some of my best images ever, well i think so lol
Before anyone asks; its very nice but makes a lousy cup of tea and can't make the bed yet :P :D
