STL Files?

Post by PScott »

Hello all.

I just found out about TrueSpace, and it seems excellent.

I notice that on the website it lists STL file compatibility.

But I cannot for the life of me see how to export (or save as?) an STL File.

It's probably obvious, but sometimes I cannot see the forest for the trees :)

I Believe it has native export now?

Or do I need to employ a special export script of some sort?

Can somebody clue me in please?

Thank you.

Very simple you got to have the full version of Ts 7.61 and not standalone and there you go to model side which is the tab marked model on it and
with the object selected you go to TS6 file dropdown in the middle top of your screen and do save as and then from the dropdown under file choose stl.
Thats it.. !

I am not sure if STL is on standard export or if the model side need the conversion pack plugins (it is no longer available today). If not you can use a dxf as a standard to convert into STL with another soft. I used STL some years ago to do real model for my job (on the conversion pack with a good export to autocad). Without update, this export from TS are outdated quickly. it is preferable to use a modern import/export for that kind of files.

Thanks Gentlemen.

I was trying to use the "STD" version.
and had no joy.

I now have the other version, and hey presto....success!

Thank you all.

It is appreciated. :)
