Well the only significant thing I did on the 1st was end the previous challenge, that the Keryx won... so continuing what I said I'd do on the previous challenge... I'll make my own version of the Keryx!

Get those entries in. Challenge ends on November 27, 2015 at midnight in your location. You've got no excuse not to enter. Everyone was doing something on November 1, 2015. Main challenge thread here.

I'll try to come up with something in this challenge. The only reason I haven't participated lately...
(My company was bought out and I will not have a job in a year or two)
status bummed=not artistic at the moment

@Steinie? Out of a job, that sucks... hope you find another one soon.
Meanwhile in Mikomtown: Well I'm trying to get myself fired from my job so I won't have work to keep me from doing creative stuff. I wish I had a job I could do from home
The good first half of this month was taken up by me messing around with scripts and crap and work and stuff and things and now I'm not sure what I'm doing. I'll try to finish my entry this weekend or the next.

Extended by one day. It now ends on November 28, 2015 at midnight in your location.
If there are no entries by that deadline then rather than extend the challenge I'll make a "pass the torch" post in this thread and who ever posts first saying he wants it runs the next one.
----
Mikom: "crap and work and stuff and things" ha ha ha! Permission to put that on T-shirts and merchandise?

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
Ok... brain freeze/deja vu kinda thing...
I thought I posted my final entry in the Challenge thread a few days ago but don't see it there. Did I post it (other than in my thread)?
ANyways, are there any other entries? No fun playing alone.
If so, how abt we take a break for Dec and start fresh next year. Or maybe... for Dec. we vote on the 'Best of the Year' from the winning entries last 11 months.
Had to edit the post... LOL. I got an idea for a shirt too from the inspiration above.
On the back of the shirt it says,
"Fine thank you. And how are you?"
Get it? You read that as the person wearing it is walking away.
Get it? Ahh hahahahaha.....
(alrighty then. Quietly moving on)

That looks pretty good Mikom. I like how the logo is integrated with the letterbox frame and the logo and spacecraft colors are the same.
Draise, "I will have to whack together my half made work and present that?". Well sort of. The entry should represent something you did on Nov. 1. You worked on a work in progress -- your music video. So any image related to that project is suitable as an entry. Any of the ones you have already posted would be fine and even show the state of the project on/around Nov 1.
The "crap and work ..." shirt gets made then. Don't think you're getting any credit or a share of the massive income from it.
One of my winter projects is to put more stuff on Zazzle. Draise, you can select from many clothing items including hoodies on the product page. <end shameless product promotion>
Dragneye, go on and enter yours. Also, I like that "thanks for asking" idea. Permission to put that on shirts? Best of the year poll could be fun!

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
Looks like Draise needs more than a second. Dragneye's animation seems ready to enter. So one more extension. Challenge now ends at midnight your location Nov. 29 2015. That's it for extensions. Tomorrow either Mikom wins by default or the poll goes up so get those entries in.
Do what you want of course, winner is king of his challenge, but since December has low participation I suggest a speed modeling contest. Having only a couple of days or a few hours to finish an entry makes it something people can fit in somewhere in the month.

Vote! The poll is here vi ... =66&t=4950
Discovery:
You can change the main challenge thread into a poll by editing the first post. That's easier than duplicating the postings in a new thread. Changing its title changes the title of the thread and the poll controls are there. Another hint: use the preview feature to adjust days to run the poll so it ends on the right day.

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
I think it is good but my opinion of an entry is not a factor. Entries are to be posted in the main thread.Draise wrote:Oh? Why didn't you put in Dragoneye's animation? I think it was up to par no?
OK. I'll enter Dragneye's animation for him. Normally that would be a bad idea but he already expressed that he thought he entered it and noted "This will have to be the final entry" in his wip thread. That shows that he did intend to enter it. (However, that he didn't post it in the main thread indicates that he does not want to enter it.)
Generally, you have to put your entry in the main thread to be in the poll. By doing so the artist signifies that he wants that item to be an entry. When more people participate it is impractical for the Challenge Super Being to monitor all the wip's or determine the intent of the artists to enter something or not.
(Master of Ceremonies? Coordinator? I think challenge winners should be CSB's. Challenge Super Beings!)

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
Perhaps there should be a minimum of four participants per challenge that confirm they will (most likely) enter before the challenge "officially" starts, this would probably make it more of a sure bet for others to enter as well without having to worry about a lack of participation.

Hey guys. Sorry for the absence. Been doin' some writing and been offline.
Yes, I thought I did post my entry into the correct thread. But,when I came back to query, I forgot to post it that time also (the absent-minded professor visual comes to mind) so thank you for the effort Finis.

"smell like knowledge, beauty, or laughter" That's great! May I use that on T-shirts and other merchandise? (Stuff like "I smell ...", "You smell ...", customizable like "<your words here> smells like ...", etc.

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
Sure Finis if it's You that makes the shirts. - Funny you mention that. A buddy has just resurrected his t shirt printing business and we've been brainstormin' here too. (for the record, yeah, I actually talk like that sometimes. I smell knowledge, I taste beauty... hey anyone ever see something so beautiful you got physically sick? I think there's a technical name for it but I just call it art sickness. Happened twice; once looking at a Rembrandt and once while being overwhelmed by a Reubens (spelling?).

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
POLL: The poll ended this morning with a tie between Dragneye and Draise.
Tie Breaker Poll. (link) This just runs for one day so VOTE!
Changing anything on a poll resets the votes or I would have just added a day.
Thanks Dragneye. I'll put the shirts etc. in my Zazzle store (link). Does that count as "it's You that makes the shirts"? (Hmm, store is a mess. Have to clean up.)
EDIT:
The tie breaker poll is tied! Someone go vote to break that tie! There are several hours left to vote.

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
The tie breaker poll was tied 4 to 4.
Tie Breaker Breaker. To break this tie and avoid another tie: Make a post in the main thread saying who you vote for. You must choose Draise or Dragneye since Mikom's excellent entry was eliminated in the first poll. The first such post determines the winner. (So if you aren't the first your post doesn't count.)
Thanks Dragneye (shirt slogan).
EDIT: Dragneye wins!

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
Thank you folks.
(if I can get the check before the holidays that would be great)
I have an idea. Since it's the holidays how about we each create an ornament to hang on the virtual tree of TrueSpace, the program that has given us hope and pleasure throughout the years. (hmm, if each model was a solid .obj we COULD actually create the trueSpace scene for the finale. That would have to be one of you since I haven't used tS in a while). The ornament... something from you/of you. The place where you live, something you like, etc.
Anyway... any 'political' objections to the holiday motif?

Re: U3DA Challenge - November 2015 Comments
Sounds nice to me. I like it and was already working on a Christmas picture. It also has the advantage that good ornaments can be done in a short time so those busy with holiday activities can still participate. Do we have to use TS? I'll be happy to give my ornament for the tree if there is one.
