Hi
I have had a working setting for Truespace 6.7 for a long time in windows 7.
I have used the D3D as acceleration.
Today I changed screen to a higher resolution one (I have two screens but I have had that before also - the new thing is one new screen). To my surprise Truespace now refuses to do D3D acceleration. It accepts OpenGL but refuses D3D.
I have NOT changed graphic card. The application is running on the same logical screen (first screen) which is the new screen.
How can a new screen affect this? And what can I do to fix it?
I use a NVIDIA graphic card, Geforce GTX 550 Ti, with driver version 306.97 - which is the same driver I used before when it all worked...
suggestions??

I am unsure. This is TFT screens so do they have an adjustable frequency?marcel wrote:Same frequency (hertz) ?

Re: Strange error with changed screen
The mystery deepens - if I start Truespace on my old screen, then I can enable D3D.
I can even move it to my new screen and it will work with D3D.
Scary.

Re: Strange error with changed screen
I had this problem once, and it was due to using one of the two monitors with a strange frequency/refresh rate. I had to make sure the monitors were on the same frequency (through video card options).

Re: Strange error with changed screen
Ah, you and Marcel is right. It is set to 59Hz instead of 60Hz. I tried to set it to 60Hz but it doesn't seam to remember that setting but the D3D option works now. Extremely strange.Draise wrote:I had this problem once, and it was due to using one of the two monitors with a strange frequency/refresh rate.
