Hey everybody!
Boy oh boy busy busy! Hope everyone's doing okay.

I haven't been posting much here because I haven't been doing too much modelling.
However, I have been taking film acting classes with my wife. She is going to be signing with
a talent agent tomorrow. WooHoo! The agent does not have a redhead in her roster, and also said
she 'has no one like Nellja'. So that's a good thing, to stand out in the business of film and commercials.
So we're really amped about the opportunity. The agent said Nellja was not ready for lead roles in film, but she
was ready for supporting roles. For commercial work, however, she is ready for lead roles due to her level of energy.
So, WooHoo and Kudos to her!

We're also practicing voiceover skills; these are good for radio, and of course, animations. We have a pair of live
vocal mikes (Shure SM58), but, they are designed for live performance (Nellja is a singer), not studio work. So, we
upgraded to an AT2020USB+ USB condenser mic and a decent pop filter. Along with that we got an AMP headphone amplifier with 4 free headsets so that was a heck of a deal. The word on the street is, USB mikes aren't 'great' for home studio voiceover recording but hey, I need a start. I could've spent about the same amount of money on an audio interface but then I'd still be stuck with the Shure SM58 mikes. So, there you go.

So where am I going with all this?

Film acting classes are good training for improved animation skills. Plus of course, they're good for film acting.
Voiceover practice, and in the near future, classes, are good for performing character voices for 3d animation.
Plus, I am super proud of my wife for landing a contract with a talent agent. Congratz Nellja!

So, I'm still in the loop with 3d modelling an animation. Sweet!

I always liked the idea of voice acting congrats, to the both of you.

What I am learning can be applied to 3d animation anyway; so I'm glad about that! Just wish I learn and do it all, all at once. But it doesn't work that way. Patience... patience....

We're getting the startup stuff out of the way - Nellja is signing with the agent today, getting new headshots Monday ; FINALLY. At a really good price too. So that helps. Also *had* to order upgraded phones since the agent communicates via texting usually. Our phones are 10 digit keypad things, clamshell type. So texting is a big challenge. Got the Samsung SIII for Free (2 of them); we pay $50 for each, but then we get a $50 debit card. Why they do that, I don't know. Sounds stupid but it is probably a way to avoid taxes. Anyway.
Got her resume reformatted late last night, had to ditch some very old, but cool, stuff to get it on one page in a larger font.

Oh, we are also judges for the Intendence Film Festival at the end of June, in Arvada CO. We screen the films (International and animation are our choices!), and rank them for judging. Fun stuff! I hope to get some fun animations submitted for next year, and for other festivals. Seriously, what I see in terms of animation at these festivals and monthly screenings, I think, I can DEFINITELY match or top that quality!

This is all very good to hear! Getting into the scene, working with others, upgrading hardware and learning a new skill that will help out! I agree that voice acting or acting in general will help animation a lot. I have to try do that too at work.
