April 2015 U3DA Graphic Art Challenge - 3D Pixel Art
That's right, 3D pixel art! That means you will be working with voxels, or cubes. Like Minecraft, or Magicavoxel. The idea is to create the best pixel art in 3D!
Characters, scenes, foilage, voxelized scanned objects, anything. Make it awesome, make it 3D, make it pixely.
RULES:
-It has to only contain cubes, or other voxelized geometry
-You can enter as many times as you like
Post your entries in this thread. There will be a comments thread for discussion.
The challenge begins now March 27, 2015 and ends at midnight in your location on April 27, 2015. Voting will begin on April 28 and continue through May 1st.
Winner gets the next competition.

Well this is really different !
There are problems here which you might want to address in the rules.
1) Do you want the actual voxels to be evident? 3DCoat can do voxels but are so small it looks like a regular object.
2) I can create an object and convert it to a voxel?
3) Do you want the finished product to look like a Minecraft type scene?
4) Can I cheat and use a photoshop filter to convert my picture to a voxelized picture?

1) The idea is that yes, that they be evident. It's to simulate pixels, being like the technique used in pixel art. Example: game characters made in worlds of few pixels to optimize them in the 8 bit ages.Steinie wrote:Well this is really different !![]()

2) Yes. You can convert objects to voxels.
3) It does not have to be a minecraft scene. The idea is that it be artistic. Pleasurable, beautiful, thoughtful.
4) You cannot use a filter. The "pixels" need to be in 3D. Haha though, is that you?!
