Is one of the most flexible games ever, you can construct buildings, tools.. etc..
Don't expect brilliant graphics.. the game is what counts here..

I see you have never heard of Cube 2 Sauerbraten: http://sauerbraten.org/

It's a fast paced Quake-like first person shooter, however it has a similar feature where you can manipulate an octree-based world to create buildings and loads of other cool stuff. It is probably the most under appreciated game in the world and (in my opinion) it is also the best of it's kind.
Minecraft has gotten so much attention these past few years while it should have gone to Cube 2 instead.
Best of all, Cube 2 is open source and therefore totally free

I suggest you check it out, you can have loads of fun modding it and importing your own models into the game.
