I started a modeling forum for Gamespace Lite.
I searched high and low and none appear to exist on the planet. I wanted a place where GSL modelers could share modeling information, GSL models, tips and tricks for using GSL. When Caligari went under a lot of GSL modelers seriously bummed out myself included. I've started posting a few how to's on the forum and plan to add more as time allows and make the forum a place where GSL peeps can interact with one another. I'd appreciate any other GSL fans out there come join the forum and help build the site into a useful data base for modeling with GSL. The forum can be found at http://gamespacelite.freeforums.org/tes ... html?uid=2" Thanks, BNG. PS: If GSL was a woman I'd ask for her hand in marriage

This is a good idea ; your announcement, among other great projects, sounds like trueSpace is in a sort of rebirth stage. I like that
I think the current forum should have hosted a GS section though : it is always better to browse one forum than several ones... Prodigy, what do you think ?

Re: I started a modeling forum for Gamespace Lite.
It's sort of ironic to think that Caligari released Gamespace Lite to encourage people to upgraded to the full version of Gamespace, and then just pulled the plug out completely. I know I was on the verge of upgrading to GS and suddenly found it unavailable. The chief reason I like GS is it's simple user interface and it's lack of complicated modeling terms. Norman Ormandy knows how to design a great product, but sadly his mass marketing skills lead to the apparent downfall of Caligari itself. I guess in a way the GSL forum is a tribute to a very nice 3d modeling package designed for non-professional modeling hobbists. I'll never completely stop using GSL because it's just so damn useful for my modeling needs. I also use Truespace 7.6 for more complex models, but always find myself falling back to GSL to make the initial model and passing it on to TS for advanced tweaking. Hopefully, the GSL forum will attract enough other GSL fans to make the site a useful place where other people can congregate and share stuff.

I'm already registered there, just two members (BNG and Me), and one of them don't have even Gamespace (me).

Roman...thanks for correcting that, yes he is a brilliant man. The forum should increase with time as more people stumble onto it in web searches for Gamespace Lite information. I encourage existing GSL users to start posting useful stuff like tips and tricks, tutorials, favorite models, etc to help establish a viable data base.
Truespace, stuff is also welcome as both GSL and Truespace share a lot in common. I use GSL for simple low poly model development and typically import Scene files and COB models into Truespace for tweaking. The process is quite useful and a fairly simple way to establish an effecient workload schedule. Truespace, adds functionality to GSL in terms of more modeling export formats and advanced modeling tools. TS 7.6 rocks! Really, I can't imagine modeling with any other package.
