SMC #61: TIME PIECES or Sponges

SMC #61: All things Sponge

This Challenge is to model an object that is based on TIME PIECES or sponges.

The Rules:
1) You can use any 3D software you want.
2) Model(s) must be created within a 4 hour time limit.
3) Rendering, Lighting, and Texturing are not included within the 4 hour time limit.
4) You may enter as many times as you wish.
5) Each entry is restricted to 1 beauty render at 800 x 600 pixels.
6) Each entry must be clearly named for voting purposes.
7) Each entry is also to include a wireframe screen grab (before subdivision if used).
8) Each entry must include the time spent, software and render engine used.

Entry Deadline: before midnight, 21 April 2011.

Voting: To commences on 31st March 2011 and end on 21 April 2011 at midnight.

Thinking of Salvador Dali I came up with this.... I call it ... "silent alarm"

model in Moi - 20 minutes
texture/render Vue - 5 minutes

Toy Sponge Clock

Software: TS 7.6 model side. Lightworks render engine.
Modeling: Just under two hours.
Texture: Fifteen minutes.
Render: A few seconds.

hi here's my render called THE CAR SPONGE

modeled and rendered In Truespace 7.6
it took about 10 minutes to model, 2 minutes to texture and 10 seconds to render.
