A Scots boy came home from school and told his mother he had been given a part in the school play. "Wonderful," says the mother, "What part is it?" The boy says "I play the part of the Scottish husband!" The mother scowls and says: "Go back and tell your teacher you want a speaking part."

scottish dont speak?? sorry, i dont understand it, no smile at all..

I get it but its international we dont get a speeking part at home either when "THE BOSS" is in !

I guess this is similar to the Swedish myth that people that comes from the northern part of Sweden doesn't talk. Off course, that is a total myth. Once you get to know these people you can't shut them up....

i have a Swedish neighbor and he is quite allright, I talked to him and he replied :D so you are certainly right.

We dont have such a strong myth about scotish, althought a typical scotish lord (very old, weak, impotent or/and invalid in other ways usually :) ) appears in some jokes in CZ, usually with his servant.

I think we all owe the Scots a great debt of gratitude for were it not for an argument over a penny the world would have never known copper wire....

As coming from Sweden I HAVE to post a reply. The people of the north of sweden are also known in Sweden as the people who dont speak alot but i know man from the north that can speak to your ears fall of. I agree to you spyfrog: "Its a myth" In this case I cant get him to shut of.

iam lucky to be czech :D I dont know about jokes about us :)
