Newby questions...
Even using TS by 5 years.. I have some questions.
How create a Realistic Water?
What is the different between normal render and that photo realistic plug-ins?
How make the flash of a weapon firing?
Exist any extensive library free of textures or models?
What is the potential of TS 7.6 on making movies?
If a have more questions a will post. Thank you already

Re: Newby questions...
The best way to make 3d is use your imagination to find a way using the tools that you already know to achieve what you need..
answering your questions..
1) You can use bump maps or a mesh with morph.. Dynawave was a nice plugin for modelside made from mentemagica (MagicMind) also distributed on Caligari Anipack but discontinued.. you may try to contact the creator etc..
2)I do not understand your question..
3) I should suggest use post process to do that.. if you don't want to use post process, you may use a texture of a firegun with alpha on a plane.. remember must be visible no more than 1 or 2 frames..
4) Turbosquid is a good one.. There's a lot of free objects in many formats, i use Frootee's OBJ plugin to import some models to truespace..
5) All depends what you expect from that movie.. i still believe that is possible to make a very very nice movie using truespace, all depend on your skill, time, and efforts to make that movie.. but is totally possible..
The only limitation is the 32bit to render big scenes. but after truespace is Fantastic..
And it's free.

Re: Newby questions...
Thank you, I have new ones:
What that 32 bit limitation causes?
Where can I find a post process tutorial, water make tutorial, how to make something brittle, etc?
My question was: What is the difference between the normal render (Standard on TS) and the photo realistic (V-ray, YafaRay, etc)?
Exist an improved physics system?
Which good programs are compatible with TS (Free if possible)?
How do you make the water in the Terrain Tutorial on Youtube?
I downloaded YafaRay, I just need to install? It's better install Workspace mode only?

Re: Newby questions...
32bit limitation means you have 2gigs + - of your memory to add textures, objects etc.. if you use huge scenes full of textures bla bla bla.. that will reach that limit and that makes truespace unstable.. that happen with all 32bit app..
no matter if you use a 64bit OS, your app must be 64bit running on a 64bit soft to expand that limit to 8gigs (far as i can remember)
2nd question.. my suggestion is Google, try to find tutorials from other software.
But first you need to understand the tool you are using, so after watch any other soft it is simple to figure what you need to do in your software and make the effect you need..
To make texture there's a lot of different techniques, Bump mapping, water simulation, you can use cloth sim. and wind, texture mapping, morphs and a few more.. so all depends on your needs.. The easiest way for a new user?? Bump mapping.. But i suggest first get the truespace manual, read the Material chapter, understand what it is.. and after that.. start to use it.. and you will see how easy it is..
You can read about bump mapping around the net, is the same thing inside a different software
About the next question:
Make a realistic render depends on many factors and is almost the sum of those factors make something realistic or not.. factors like the quality of your work, the Details, Textures used and finally the Render Engine..
Vray, Yafaray, Indigo, Lightworks, etc are Render engines.. Engines that process all your data and the final result is a image or a sequence of images (call it animation)
The realism of the render IMO (in my Opinion) still depending of the quality of your work, so there's no Magical Render engine that convert your 3D models on something realistic, BUT work with a good Render engine will help you a lot
Global Illumination to put an example.. calculate the bounces of light emitted by an object.. Color bleeding, Deep of field, Fog, Caustics... etc..etc..
Truespace has a nice physics system.. is not the best but it works for some cases..
Compatible with truespace? depends on what you call compatible.. Photoshop is compatible with truespace cos you can make textures for truespace.
You can export and import many different file formats so those softs are compatibles in the way you can import and export your work with them..
In my tutorial is just a plane, green~blue color, Diffuse 0.1, Fresnel Mirror 1 (but you can use a simple mirror shader if Fresnel is not available.. and a noise texture on the Bumpmapping channel with a very very low value.. 0.005 was enough to make the water realistic.. Remember to repeat the texture to make simulate small waves etc..
Again, i suggest you to play with Materials, how they work and how to use them..
Yafaray needs 2 things to work.
1) the Yafaray render engine installed
2) TS Yafaray plugin running on your TS.
Check TsYafaray has a forum inside, so you can do your questions if you have any problems etc..
The Workspace only version is due caligari released 2 versions of Truespace 7.61b. One with Model side included, and other without.. if you are running Truespace Standalone, TsYafaRay for Workspace is what you need, if not, the other one.. You can bother Jackedwards for more information..
Kidding!

Ow sorry man I already know the answer, resuming I don't know what happened...
Why in every click appears a ''wave'' in your SC tutorial on youtube?
How I use the Yafaray?
Sorry for my inconvenience naivety

Re: Newby questions...
Sim eu entendo perfeitamente... É só porque eu não imaginei quanto o google ajuda nesse assunto até pesquisar...
Understand that I'm a non-experienced 3D artist, and I have less than 18 years, I know how to create simple forms as you can see in this topic (vi ... 3746#p3746" ), the models have 5 years... More or less around. But that is the best I can do right now (maybe a little more)

Re: Newby questions...
Yours Topics around the web about modeling and blue-prints helped a lot, and now I'm creating my first car (Others Looks like a box with wheels
) it's a Siena from Fiat, I think is a easy model and a normal car, I already made the side now going to the front... Can I post here the images wireframed and solid? Just to see such as getting in a professional opinion ( If you it's not professional at least is better than a lot of professionals XD) Do you have any gallery?

Re: Newby questions...
Hi
The anterior question is already solved.
I found this site: http://reinerstileset.4players.de/tsWSp ... l#modeling"
With a lot of plugins, a question about plugins and scripts... Better more? Or I need to choose the best ones?
And About rendering in workspace... Appears that message: No offline renderer installed. To get offline renderer, visit http://www.caligari.com" or contact our technical support
What I need to do? And how I activate the Real-time render? I'm already search and found in Caligari forums about V-ray and etc...
Thanks

Yafaray and Indigo are not SDK plugins, are scripts.. scripts don't need to be Installed on the Package manager..

Not about Indigo but about finding answers. The forum has a search feature. Many questions have already been answered and many resources are already here. Search the forum and you might find what you need.

Re: Newby questions...
I know that hair is only rendered in the workspace mode and for that we need a renderer like V-ray, right?
And I know that v-ray is no more available for legal sale, right?
So what workspace renderer exist to I can render hair? (Preferably free or less than 50 bucks)
Thanks
