Living Fireworks

Post by Finis »

I played with animating lights in TS model side and made this. The visible lights are from the glow and lens flare effect. I placed copies of a light on the verticies of a geosphere with a plugin from Cool Powers 2.

Thanks Froo.

Update. More movements. The main spinning sequence is one full rotation so it can be looped or repeated. The movie uses it twice. I textured the surroundings but it would take around 4 hours to render.

Experiments with different render settings produced the fastest frame time with the textured version using: raycast render, single sided on, triangulation off. Raytrace on or off didn't make a difference but I turned it off.

Shadows are ray type but look soft since there are many lights.

Each ball rotates around a different axis. The gold ball rotates -60 degrees per second around the Y axis. It would alternate between two settings, rocking, when I used the numerical panel to set its rotation so I rotated with the mouse and it worked better.

TS 7.6 model side Lightworks render.
