I use both, I use the model side for modeling and other details and the workspace side for adding textures and colors.froo wrote:wow very nice!

Ok, I've sort of run into a dead-end... I'm not sure how to continue. Has anyone got any good ideas?
Here I made a simple sketch of how I might continue... (Edit)
Here is a quick preview of how it might look in 3d. I can't say I'm to happy with how it looks, so... suggestions please

Oh..me..I know... How about adding a tracked base to it. or Better yet...did you watch the Incredibles? At the very end the Underminer burrows up through the ground in that big bore machine.

Yeah, I know that scene
I've been thinking myself about a Thunderbirds vehicle called "nr 7" or "the mole". It's sort of the same idea and design. Then, yesterday I also had a really crazy idea about putting it on the arm of a very large robot.
I also made a quick animation to post on my blog, here it is:

Ok, I've been doing some crazy stuff to this model but I think this is the right way to go. It's nearly finished.

Looks good. I think the trailer should have braces like cranes do since the drill looks heavy enough to tip it over when deployed.

Yes, I've already thought about that and it will be the next thing I'll add.Finis wrote: I think the trailer should have braces like cranes do since the drill looks heavy enough to tip it over when deployed.
