Cannot edit SDS

I have applied SDS to an object but cannot edit the model in "basic" level: edit the original faces.
a tooltip shows: "select subDivision layer 0 for editing" but I AM in layer 0, I have not added any layer?
please any help much appreciated :bananasad:

I have selected Level 2 and mesh turns green

in your screenshot I can see you have the 3 colored Spheres!
I turned off "3d controls" so I don´t have them...
now I can access the faces of the model, but only the top most level SDS :shock:
how can I access the lowest level?

In my simple example, I have 3 Levels of SDS
The only way I know how to Edit a SDS Level is with the 3D Control
I can select any of the colored Spheres to Point Edit the SDS Level

Share your scn, and I. and or somebody else, can take look?

You mean I share the scene file? no problem. Although the issue is with the GUI I think...

Using the SDS Spheres, which is a Model Widget, I am able to select all 3 SDS Levels

can you please tell me what your settings are?
I cannot see the spheres in my version.

I think what your experiencing, is the SDS widget is hidden inside your object
In this case, you are not able to select the SDS widget Spheres and or Point Edit the object
I set your object to Draw as Wire to see the hidden SDS widget

You have to have 3D Controls enabled in Preferences

Nope, it was suggested to Toggle the 3D Controls

ok so I turned it back on. now the spheres are visible (as it was by default) by I cannot select them. or is there a hotkey? Also, the original problem remains: I cannot select the edges of the model :(

Object Mode
Preferences
3D Controls - Enabled
Step 1 - LClick Toggle Rotary Control
Object Mode.png

Step 2 - Enter Point Edit Mode - RClick object
Point Edit Mode
Edit Mode.png
The hidden SDS widget moves from inside of the object, to the bottom of the object
Where you are able to select the SDS layer
Edit: Changed pictures using your model_1.scn

Bummer!
The only other things I can think of
1) File menu - Help - Tooltips "Toogle OFF"

2) Close trueSpace
Press and hold down your keyboard CTRL key and start trueSpace
Use Default Configuration.png
.
Check - Use Default Configuration
Press [OK]

3) Try other options in the Configure trueSpace dialog
Wireframe

4) Use Workspace for modeling 'My preferred method'
Workspace's SDS is different from Model's SDS
Does not cross the Bridge and visa versa
No support for selecting different SDS Layers
Vertex and Edge weights
For me, Modeling in Workspace is far more elegant!

5) Close trueSpace
Go to: C:\trueSpace76\tS
Delete these trueSpace files
Delete trueSpace files.png
.
Start trueSpace

6) Install DirectX 9

7) Run DX Dialog

This quick card may be useful regarding colored spheres and state transitions. SDS is near the right-bottom corner of the card. Whole card: Quick card for Model side modeling, opinion plz
