Ok it is not a drippy cheese like Velveeta or bubbly cheese like a grilled cheese but more like a
cheese left out in the sun for a while.

Layers of a different kind.
It is in the details:
Salami was cut using a slicer so thickness is even.
Tomatoes were hand sliced so one edge of tomato is usually thicker then the other side. These
little details make the scene more believable to the viewer. We all have preconceived ideas on what items SHOULD look like.

but I AM getting hungry!
The Plate was created in MOI were I drew the profile and lathed the shape.
For eye expressions I gave the olives toothpick eyebrows.
I also decided to add some sesame seeds on the roll, which are nothing more then an extruded sphere. I noticed that the roll body looked like crust but the mouth didn't look like bread.
Improving the colors inside the mouth and lips really helped create the illusion.

To make the cape, I used trueSpace's cloth in workSpace. I gave the textured plane cloth attributes, hovered the plane
over a butcher block table model I made, attached fixation points, then let gravity do it's thing. Fantastic physics solution for making the cape!

I'm not sure everyone will understand the humor in the title. I'm pretty sure it is a Mid-Western term. That is what we called it in Missouri, (On the East Coast we call it a Hoagie, other places it is a Submarine Sandwich) I wonder what this sandwich would be called in other parts of the world?

@ Finis Do they look like cheese? I modeled them after a picture I found of a Cleaver made by a Company called "Dexter" They had a hole in the metal part I assume to hang.
