Curvy 3d?

Post by Unavailableartist »

Does anyone here use Curvy 3d- looking at it as a replacement for TS altogether and just use blender and curvy.
It costs like $100
Opinions?

I'm thinking about getting it in the future. After I played a little to more with blender. It's a good speed-model software I think. I imported it and did some playing with it in blender. Interestingly it took me like 5 seconds to make that bodice.

Once I smoothed it out, and the other I made like a psuedo lizard creature with sculpt tools.

better version. Smooth shading, 1 layer subdivision. Again minor tweaking, it was a little top-heavy so I re-sized a little on blender.

Just checked out curvy 3d, looks interesting, but I would go with sculptris, it is a nice program and more conducive to more advanced looking results, and of course it's free. That crackart looks good too, old school interface, but who cares, its free and looks like it will do the job. I use 3dcoat myself for painting but I got it when it was first released for very cheap and the upgrades for early users have been reasonable since, it has increased quite a bit since it was released though. I would skip the curvy 3d altogether, with sculptris and blender you should be good to go. I don't use blender personally but know quite a few that do with fantastic results. Best of luck with your 3d :)

I think I'll try it one day!
But for now all them free tools look good. Like I said I'll plan on getting good paid software later on down the road. I was half serious about getting curvy this year by like christmas, but I change my mind now. Thanks again guys.
