Steinie's Elemental Fire Sword of Forum Fury
Designed in Xara Xtreme, Modeled somewhat in Hexagon, Voxelized in 3d Coat, Painted in PhotoShop - 3DCoat and Shaders added in Carrara 8.5 Pro Beta, Rendered in Carrara 8 Pro, Post work in Photoshop
Long ago, the Viking Steinie Ulm of the Viking clan Gnerpastogg came upon a Blacksmith who designed a special sword that utilized the fiery angry of Odin and the power of Thor's hammer. It was to be used controlling out of control forum wars and the general beheading of peasants.

Re: Magical Sword Challenge Comments
Question, what is the time limit for the entry? Like, time on modeling/rendering/texturing? etc?

Re: Magical Sword Challenge Comments
There is no time limit besides how long the challenge runs. If you make a model that takes longer than that, you're disqualified. Though I'd love to see what you would have come up with
I think my personal longest time I've spent modeling is probably a week, I think that was the spaceship Athena. If I could model a single thing for a whole month... wow, just imagine what it would look like in the end... Unfortunately I do not have that capacity.

Re: Magical Sword Challenge Comments
Got my sword done, did a wireframe, and now all I've got left is a story to write! I'll go to bed now.. it's late. Good weekend!
My mesh is a little messy......
And guess what, the render was done actually in the workspace side: glows, masks, depth feilds and beauty passess.
Composite and lens effects were done mostly in Blender, but I couldn't figure out the DOF in Blender. So I used Softimage 2012 to do the DOF (it's suttle). Later, using Paint.net, I resized the final render to requirements and enjoyed my brief weekend's work!
Everything else, TS workspace side only!
I will write a story and compete! There are many competitions here, it's seriously gonna be a blood bath!

Poll finished?
I didn't vote since I found a few entries equal and couldn't pick one as best.
