Is it just me or does the forums seem real slow here of late. Nobody seems to be posting much new work, including me. Could it be the warmer weather?

PS: I don't me global warming, seeing as how I don't believe in it.

A lot of us just seem to be busy with other things right now... for me.. I pulled my shoulder a few days ago and I only really post when the painkillers let me...

To try and pick things up I am now getting into the smc.. I encourage others to do the same.

Nothing glorious required just quick and clean.

To address the question of the thread directly...it clearly isn't just you.

I have several unfinished WIPs on the site

...one I got bogged down with trying to get Tom's Grimes distortion shader to work (for exhaust from aircraft)...somewhere I copied and pasted all the instructions from his website about how to find it and still haven't found them. Unfortunately, they no longer exist in WebSpace...he's moved on.

Due to other things occupying my time I decided not to upgrade the copy of Vue I have at the time of the latest release...

I will probably use trueSpace for a work project in the next month...if so I will post something on that

Home trueSpace time has been replaced by another thing...I am trying out a dream I used to have...I will say more later when progress (or the lack of it

) happens...if this turns out to be more than a dream, I will then be using trueSpace to build a website to promote the new venture, and you'll all get an invite

. If its just a dream I will return to 3D with a vengence

hm, about me, i dont post too much, because i play games too much last time. Recently i get back from work and play World of Tanks (MMOG). Anyway I found out that I need gaming to relax and be more creative and have more power for doing a graphics work. If I do only graphics I do crapy things coz my brain is sick of working only, having no fun :)

I hear ya Biktar. I have been deep in the Gears of War 3 beta, but I have gotten some inspiratoin from it and I am working it into a image. Now this will be a slow process, with all I have going on as well. I have started a new business, that so far is doing well, and I have typical family stuff along with my real job and school.

Back to serious ! Outdoor seesion is for me time to get a lot of photography jobs done....
I took 46 Gig of pictures in 3 days this weekend at the sportscar meeting for the organizer
and for press work so not realy slow at this time .....
3d work .. i got to do some 3d for the community project we are working on
and other then that the day only got 24 hours.....
just moved to a new computer and getting things to run.....
I´ve always considered 3d as a part of my photography...... sort of like a mighty plugin..
I´ve never ever thought of getting into toon style 3d work.....
bottom line I do what pays my bills

No, it is not just you. Things are slow. Spring is coming and computer time is being reduced.
Personally I spend my time working on my Trainz project. I am also reluctant to post here because everytime I do post here I have a feeling that people critizise my selection of tools and how I work. I have nothing against helping critique like "you could do X instead" but it have more been like "you should be using Y" - if I post something asking about how you do something in product A, then you don't want the answer "you should use product B".....

No you just get the answer that it doesnt work the way you want it to work
in polygon modeling and you get the answer the x..th time after Tom gave you the answer in the old forums.Your not critisized for the tools!Thats a misunderstanding
you bring this rant up again and again.. its not a choice of product its a choice
of use of mathematics........
there is a reason behind Froos ambitions in making a plugin for Truespace......
if he manages to get it going inside Truespace you can do it in Truespace......
The discussions nurbs against polygons is as long as CG exists and there are
long discussions inside CG Society dealing with that matter.....
its never a question of product !
