Truespace Gamespace TrueX exporter plugin.

Post by BNG »

I stumbled on to this plugin a while back and thought I'd share it with other Caligari users. It's compatible with TS version 4 and above and works well with Gamespace too. PS: There are 2 versions in the zip file. One for TS 4 and the other for TS 5 and Gamespace. PPS: I like this X version as it preserves model part naming while the stock TS X exporter changes the model part name by tacking on a -number on part names. Have fun. BNG.

Thank you! I'd only the 4.0 version of that plug-in. Now the 5.0 seem to work in 6.6.

Your welcome. I tried the version 4 and had problems on the modelside of 7.61 Beta 8, but the version 5 really works great for my needs. The default 6.6 X exporter has a strange quirk in that it adds a -number to the end of the model part. I create models for a video game and the extra -whatever was messing up my models from working right in game. The TrueX exporter leaves the part name intact so when I convert them to XSI the model works prefectly in my video game. Animation works pretty well with this exporter. Knock on wood right? :bananamad:

I no longer have the .x format to export since the service pack 1 update! Such service pack does add formats meanwhile remove others; I don't know whether it has been reckon around tS' users. Also the .dxf is no longer stable like in 6.5; with this latter the .dxf importing from Vecad's tSx was fine, with 6.6 + service pack is unstable. Unfortunately neither IGES (service pack addition) is handled correctly: there isn't way to remove the (lots) of draw panels sorrounding pieces without unselecting the object or to select just one; the result are drop performaces and confusion.

Perhaps you need to install/reinstall Conversion Pack 2.1?

And remember to back up all of your models before you do anything.

FYI: Sorry to post so late, but the modelside of 7.6 and 7.61 Beta 8 with TS 6.6 can be used as a work around for the problem described above to any other TS users who experience this horrible issue. I guess services packs themselves can create problems even though there original intent was not to create more problems.
