I know this is a bit 'off topic' but this has been driving me mad for hours now (pretty much all day).
I cannot for the life of me recall which member gave me the original file but I have adapted it graphically and messed with the code and it all seems to work except the items in the 'shoe' and 'other' options will not lock into place on the screen.
Apologies therefore in advance if it is your work I have messed up.

Pretty sure it is just a typo somewhere or the hit buttons have not copied properly.
Anyone able to take a gander? I think I know how to get multiple items into each section once it works.

You da man Prodigy, its probably something really simple but i just cant get the shoes or the sunglasses to stick to the character. Pretty sure its something to do with the 'hit' zones. Hit and hit1 work fine...i sort of created hit2 and hit3 but they somehow dont match up.
Attached a pic if it helps. The glasses and shoes just float around and cant be put in place.

I played around with it a bit in Flash and confirmed the same errors of shoes and sunglasses not being attached.

Haven't had the chance to study the script, but suspect there are unassigned variables in those two objects.

Thanks james, hopefully my own deductions help someone find a quick fix...I just dont know what it is...

And it seems most of the layers where made hidden when I saved it in an attempt to isolate the 'hit' zones. They just need renabling if you need to see them.

EDIT: I just updated the zip file. I originally seperated the trigger layer into seperate layers which was a but messy. I now have four hit zones named hit, hit1, hit2 and hit3 but cannot get 2 and 3 to register anything. I have edited the script so that each of those obkects has the relevant layer. Everything else works fine (or seems to) so I suspect the problem lies there. Hit2 and hit3 were simply copies of hit1 and renamed so again, i must have missed something.

It was created using Flash CS3. It may even have been your file V3rd3??
I lost all my emails so I cant remember which forum member was helping me, I recall some work being done on a certificate generation program too.

Didnt mean to sound ungrateful or impatient earlier, just really annoyed by this. CS3 is Flash 9 but I can save it as Flash 8 if it helps.

Its fine Prodigy without password. Did you manage to fix it? I dont have my laptop fired up just my iPad. Am I going to kick myself when i find out what I did wrong?

I am just a lowly artist, this flash stuff is beyond me at times but most if the website relies on it.

I am at a point in my life where I need to get a new job that will take up more of my free time or decide to ease off and put more effort into what i spent over a decade creating. This is just one of the ideas I am messing with.

fortunately was easy to fix.. was a problem on the center of the object.. nothing else..

I suspected something was off when the cursor was in the middle of the items that worked but bottom left of the others. Like I said, simple fix for someone, just not for me.

I should now be able to add extra items to the wardrobe to make this a great little activity for kids. Now I gotta dress up pepe as a pirate, spaceman, cowboy etc. etc.

You my friend, are an absolute star.

In the past i made a utility like this one for a customer, but using different layers from a building.. different doors, beds etc.. was a good time playing with flash..

Haven't worked with flash in several years, it was like drinking from a bota bag. It takes practice so you don't squirt yourself in the eye.

I will try it later Prodigy but i am sure it will be fine. Thanks so much and i promise not to bother you again with it unless absolutely necessary. I stuck with this one for months before i finally gave up and asked. I just needed a second pair of eyes...and some flash skill.
