Microsoft introduced the new tablet PC and the 2 interesting facts for us 3d users is that it uses Windows and not OSi and Android
and it supports digital inking with a pen.
If you use the tablet for 3d and use programs like Moi3d and Sketchup that are made for drawing on screen you can
use it as if you were constructing with a piece of paper.
Certainly a new approach to 3d !
You can also use programs like Lightroom or Photoshop or Illustrator or any other Windows based
paint or construction program.
also cad programs can be used......
Even Truespace should work.....even with the pen or your fingers...

There is a discussion at the Moi forums about it.
Michael Gibson (Moi) said that only the intel tablet works with windows programs the lower version tablet is
for metro style apps...

I have tried the developers preview of win8 and speed wise its very quick, bit buggy, you can tell its geared towards touch screens
If you ever fancied dabbling with apps its worth downloading but don't ditch your current os
Sketchup works fine as does Blender, I only tried the 32 bit but people are saying cpu's on 64 bit seem a lot happier and optimized

I got fairly excited about this release, and I'm excited for Windows 8! Just wondering how an i5 chipset would fair with the slate's batter on the pro version.

I ran Win8 on a 4 year old Intel dual core laptop and didn't need any extra drivers etc, I usually use it as a render node and it was about 15% quicker than Vista and 10% Linux Mint, with Win8 the Render node was quicker than the server desktop running Vista which should be the faster system lol
I just hope they keep Win8 bare bones and don't throw in all the BS they usually do

I dont think they will add all the BS since its made for slates and those would bog them down....
