Amethyst Revisited

Post by 3dvisuals dude »

I figured it's about time I started adding some of my own work in this forum... I don't model much with trueSpace which has kept me in the past from contributing much to the forum gallery at Caligari, but I do create final renders of my various modeling efforts and I suppose I have a few thousand, lol.

This one here was an experiment I did tonight in workflow and procedural texturing. The tools I used were ZBrush (rock alpha displacement modeling), Daz Studio (the babe, lol), and Vue4 (procedural texturing of my new amethyst material, as well as the boolean tunnel and of course the final rendering).

Not much of a modeling effort this time I know, but I was happy with the final appearance of my amethyst material.

Hope it's adequate for this forum section, I am new at sharing these really.

As always. click the pic for a larger version.

I call this one "Amethyst Revisited" (I have been fiddling with creating a decent Vue 4 Amethyst Material for quite some time).

Thanks folks!

As for having "all tools of the 3d world," no,lol, but I have been collecting 3D software weekly since about 1994, so I do have a lot of great tools. I never did invest in some of the expensive ones though and probably wouldn't now even if I could easily afford to, I just don't really have a need to... most of what I can imagine I can create in 3D with cheap or free software. :D
